Earned Sick and Safe Leave Act

Session 2014 is officially underway and the Earned Sick and Safe Leave Act is about to be reintroduced in the Maryland General Assembly, but, before this can happen, we need some help from you! Maryland NOW supports this legislation and we want our members to get involved.

Please take a quick moment to contact your state senator and delegates and urge them to become a cosponsor of this important legislation.  It is so very important that we have a strong showing of cosponsors and we know that legislators respond best when their constituents personally ask them to add their name to a bill.

Phone calls are most effective.  We’ve pasted a sample script below so that you’ll know exactly what to say when the legislative aide answers the phone.  If you can’t make a call, we’ve also provided a sample e-mail that you can personalize to your liking (below).  (If you aren’t sure who represents you, you can easily type your address into http://mdelect.net to find out the names and contact info for your state senator and delegates.)
