Discussion through stories of the way it was, to educate and remind people why it’s so important to have LGBT rights in the law books.
Discussion of whether the passage of the Transgender and Marriage Equality Bills mean that everyone in Maryland now has equal rights.
Before joining Equality Maryland’s staff, Keith Thirion served on the Steering Committee of the Maryland Coalition for Transgender Equality, a coalition of over 50 organizations working to advance equal rights for transgender Marylanders. In the past he was also the Lead Organizer for Basic Rights Montgomery, the campaign to uphold Montgomery County’s trans anti-discrimination law, worked for EQMD on the trans anti-discrimination bill in 2009, organized on Proposition 8 in Los Angeles, and an Organizing Fellow with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
