Dear Equal Rights Amendment Supporter,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Maryland General Assembly’s Women’s Legislative Caucus Equal Rights Amendment Rally on Monday, February 19 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the steps of the Maryland State House in Annapolis. The purpose of this rally is to bring awareness to the legislation introduced by the Women Legislators of Maryland calling on the Federal Government to affirm and certify the Equal Rights Amendment as part of the U.S. Constitution.
We are collaborating with national women-focused organizations as well as federal and local officials. This event will bring together supporters to urge the federal government to follow its constitutional mandate and publish the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.
High-profile supporters of the ERA initiative including former Member of Congress the Honorable Carolyn Maloney, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley, U.S. Representative Cori Bush, as well as Maryland’s own Governor Wes Moore, President Bill Ferguson and Speaker Adrienne Jones, have been invited to attend. We would be honored to have you join us for this historic event.
