Maryland NOW’s coalition partner, Progressive Maryland is joining with the Maryland Coalition for Justice and Police Accountability to cosponsoring a rally in Annapolis on March 4 at 4 pm,
Participants will gather at the Annapolis District Cout and march to Lawyer’s Mall.
From Progressive Maryland’s message to us:
“Several amendments were recently added to the Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights Repeal bill (SB627) that essentially reinstate special privileges for law enforcement.
Some of the amendments to SB627 include removing the proposed civilian oversight panel and allowing officer’s records to be scrubbed after a certain period of time.
It is shameful that in 2021 we have to remind our Senators that Black Lives Matter. That is why we need to show up and make sure they hear us loud and clear – protect people, NOT police unions.”
