Kate Schumacher, Executive Assistant

Kate Schumacher joined Maryland NOW in the early summer of 2021. She was initially a member of the Young Feminist Task Force and agreed to serve in the role of an assistant to the Executive Committee, helping with internal communications, membership outreach, social media updates, and with her extensive political science background, helps with legislation and correspondence with elected officials.

Kate has long admired NOW and all they have done to improve the lives of women. Her passion for social justice drew her to us. In her role, she hopes to help NOW grow, especially with younger women.

She grew up in Kensington, MD, graduating from Bethesda-ChevyChase High School. She is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, where she studied Political Science and History. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Policy with a focus on social policy.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, going to concerts, and reading.
