This questionnaire is intended to help us better understand your priorities, leadership philosophy, and approach to public safety, civil rights, accountability, and community trust as they relate to the office of Sheriff.  

Section 4.  Civil Rights, Equity, and Public Safety

  2. What steps would you take to prevent discriminatory policy, racial profiling, or biased enforcement practices?
  3. What training do you believe deputies should receive regarding de-escalation, domestic violence, sexual assault, implicit bias, LGBTQIA+ competency, and mental health crisis response?

Section 5. Accountability and Community Trust

  1. What policies do you support regarding use-of-force transparency, body cameras, misconduct complaints, and officer accountability?
  2. How should law enforcement respond when deputies engage in domestic violence, sexual misconduct, harassment, extremist activity, or discriminatory behavior?

Section 6. Community Safety and Vulnerable Populations
