Maryland NOW’s 2026 Annual State Conference will be held on June 6th in Annapolis. Our venue is the Friends Meeting at 351 DuBois Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. We know attending in person isn’t an option for many but we hope if you can come you do so – we believe we’ll have a great meeting!
The event is our celebration of our national organization’s 60th anniversary of our founding (June 30, 1966), and our celebration of the 250the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
We really want to encourage members to come and meet with us in person. It’s a great chance to visit with two of the women who have done more to shape NOW than any other leaders we have had — Ellie Smeal and Kim Gandy. They will stay and visit with us after their presentation.
Share a box lunch (provided with your registration) with us and, in our afternoon segment, take advantage of a great opportunity to hear from the Executive Director of the Maryland ACLU, Dana Vickers Shelley, who will explore with us how we can survive as the United States after all we’ve been through over the past 18 months.
The conference is hybrid and you can join us from beginning to end with a Zoom link, but if you can possibly make it in-person, you won’t be sorry! As we have eased back into meeting in-person, our members who come and join us leave inpired and impressed. But it’s also your chance to tell us what you want Maryland NOW to do in the coming year – not the least of which will be to incorporate the visions of our speakers to not just survive our current struggles, but to thrive!

The history of NOW, with Ellie Smeal and Kim Gandy, will begin at 10:00 am and our discussion and “state of the union” with Dana Vickers Shelley of the Maryalnd ALCU will beging at 1 pm. We will provide lunch with registration, and we’ll celebrate with cake and cookies!
